September & October Events Diary - International Older Persons' Week

Luton Senior Citizens' Arts and Entertainment (www.bedscarf.org) celebrated International Older Persons' Week with a series of events for Older People, their families and carers in Luton and Bedfordshire. Click on any of the following links to find out more or click here to contact us.

Last year's events promoted the social inclusion and independence of older people in the arts, entertainment and leisure services. The events were family oriented and we encouraged informal carers of older people to attend as well as relatives and friends able to bring older persons to the events.

These events would not have been possible without the continued support of the Forum by our Supporters whom we thank for their continued involvement which helps us to achieve our aims and objectives.

The Cat's Meow
A murder mystery film set in the 1920's

In November of 1924, a mysterious Hollywood death occurred aboard media mogul William Randolph Hearst's yacht. On board the Onedia that fateful night were silent screen icon Charlile Chaplain (Eddie Izzard), gossip columnist Louella Parsons (Jennifer Tilly) and Hearst's young mistress Marion Davies (Kirsten Dunst).

Also along for the cruise were the British writer Elinor Glyn (Joanna Lumley), producer Thomas Ince (Cary Elwes) and his actress lover Margaret Livingston (Claudia Harrison). One of them would leave the vessel dead, the victim, writer Steven Peros claims, of a bullet meant for the Little Tramp. The Cat's Meow evokes a bygone era very different to our own, full of dark passions that have never gone out of style.
