Celebrating International Older Persons' Day 2005

1st October is International Older Persons' Day 2005 and between 29th September and 19th October 2005, the Luton Senior Citizens' Art and Recreational Forum (BEDSCARF) has planned and is promoting a series of special events for older people in Luton in celebration of International Older Persons' Day.

This year's events build on the successes of the programme of events for older people run in 2004. The week is being promoted with an exhibition in the Luton Arndale Centre from 12th to the 17th September and then a Community Launch on 29th September.

International Older Persons' Week 2004

Between 28th September 2004 and 9th September 2004, the Luton Senior Citizens' Art and Recreational Forum (website) planned and promoted a series of special events for older people in Luton in celebration of International Older Persons' Week.

The events for the Senior Citizens of Luton was promoted through the commissioning and launch of this website, partnering with Luton Borough Council, the printing and distribution of leaflets at the Arndale Shopping Centre, an appearance on Three Counties Radio plus the composition of a special jingle entitled "Glad You're Not Young" to mark International Older Persons' Week.
